Biography
Jane Walker also known as Jane Robinson (May 1943– October 2022) was a Melbourne painter and children's book illustrator most notably known for her en plein-air method blended with with Chinese and Japanese ink influences.
I need to paint. When I do, I am compelled to paint nature's invisible energies and to find its life force or spiritual qualities. I use Asian brush techniques and philosophies to express the essence of what I sees in nature. Expressions and impressions of nature.
I continually strive to be at one with nature.
I paint with my spirit as well as the brush for without spirit, painting is nothing more than technique.
Painting from nature not only records nature but visually journals my inner feelings and responses to what I see in nature, recording thoughts and dreams of the invisible world.
